INTENSIVE ENGLISH CLASS (ISEC)
Hamilton Secondary College offers students with limited English communication skills the opportunity to complete one semester of an Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC) before commencing mainstream studies.
The ISEC curriculum develops students’ general reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in English. In addition to this, students take part in classes focusing on the specialist language skills required in Mathematics, Australian Studies, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Health, Physical Education, and the Arts. This gives every student a solid foundation to progress to mainstream classes.
We want your learning to be rigorous and challenging, but also fun. That’s why we include special excursions and a camp in our program. A highlight of the ISEC program is the to Kangaroo Island trip.
