Student Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our students is at the centre of everything we do.

At Hamilton, we strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment that supports the emotional and physical wellbeing of our students, while fostering personal growth in confidence, resilience and independence.

We see wellbeing as an integral part of student learning and work collaboratively with staff and students to create an environment of support, where every member of the school community feels valued.

At Hamilton Secondary College, we take pride in the skills, knowledge and dedication of our Wellbeing team, in supporting your child throughout their schooling. Our team consists of two Wellbeing Coordinators, an on-site Psychologist, and a Christian Pastoral Care Worker. The team is overseen by an Assistant Principal.

The depth of their experience, and diversity in skillset, means the Wellbeing team is equipped and well-versed to respond to a multitude of needs including:

  • Subject selection and future pathways
  • Stress and Anxiety management
  • Mindfulness and Positive Education
  • Organisation and study skills
  • Building positive relationships
  • Positive mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • Conflict resolution

Our Wellbeing Team are also responsible for a range of targeted interventions to assist students in the growth and development of vital skills in areas such as confidence, team work, resilience, independence and building positive relationships.

From small, targeted intervention groups in the Middle School, to cohort-wide seminars at the Senior school level, our Wellbeing Team cater to needs of all students, and prepare them for work, life, and further study.
