Space Seeds
Fantastic to see the discussion between our Year 7-8 Space Academy students and Dr Sara Webb (Course Director for Swinburne Astronomy Online, Microgravity Program Lead) and Dr Rebecca Allen (co-Director of the Space Technology and Industry Institute) from Swinburne University of Technology.
The Teams meeting revealed information about how ‘space seeds’ were managed during their exposure to Space from the generously donated ‘LaunchLabz’ trial kits. The detailed responses recorded by our students will be included in their ‘How does Space and Microgravity affect the Germination and Growth of White Clover Seeds’ as a ‘scientific research paper’ assessment task.
Comments
Dr Webb: “Thank you so much for facilitating such a wonderful division with your students! They had excellent results and great questions around growing plants in space!”
Dr Allen: “It was so great to connect with your students and discuss the experiment. I’m continuously impressed by the level of engagement we get, even for year 7/8!”
