Culture in colour

On Wednesday 21 October students from the special classes attended an ochre painting excursion at The Living Kaurna Cultural Centre at Warriparinga. This is an important cultural heritage site where Aboriginal and early European heritage sit side by side.

Students developed their knowledge extending class learning about local Aboriginal culture with the focus being Aboriginal Art. Students made their own ochre paint and created their own artwork using traditional Aboriginal symbols to create their own story.

It was an enjoyable learning day for all.
