Term 1 will commence with 54 International students, and we are expecting additional students from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, Vietnam, India, Sweden, Italy and Switzerland throughout the year.

Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC)

2018 sees the ISEC class commencing with 8 students from Vietnam and China who are continuing from Term 4, 2017. The class will increase with 12 new class members this term, with students arriving from China and Vietnam. ISEC students complete a 6-month course, providing up to 60 SACE credits. All ISEC subjects are literacy-based and focus on increasing students’ English proficiency. These include; PLP, Maths, EALD, Australian Studies, Health, PE, and STEM. The ISEC program also includes a two-day eco-tour of Kangaroo Island, which is an integral part of the curriculum, as well as many other excursions.

After students complete their ISEC program they move into mainstream classes from years 8-11, with the majority moving into year 10. Students can join the ISEC class each term and transition to mainstream following completion of the program. Some students may participate in ISEC for part of their timetable and join mainstream classes for the remainder of subjects.
